16-month-old toddler found drowned in bucket of water under kitchen sink

A 16-month-old toddler Muhammad Fahil Finaz Nor Azuan was
found drowned in a pail at a house in Kampung Bukit Gombang, Batu
Kikir, Malaysia on Monday night.

The toddler’s mother discovered the incident about 10.40pm,
after realising that the little boy was not
with his father and three-year-old sister.

Fahil’s father, Nor Azuan Azali, 33, (pictured carrying the body) said his wife thought that their
son was with him in their room but sensed something wrong as she did
not hear his voice.

“We later found him with his head and half his body
submerged inside a water-filled bucket under the kitchen sink. My wife
and I tried to resuscitate him but failed. We then rushed him to the
Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital for treatment,”
the child was confirmed dead by doctors. The body was brought to the
forensic unit for post-mortem. Meanwhile, Jempol district police chief
Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor said police have classified the case
as sudden death.
